My Key Notes on Chapter 5 of “Growing Up, Spiritually
Chapter 5 – Walking With Your Father
These are my personal thoughts about what I got out of chapter 5 of “Growing Up, Spiritually”, by Kenneth E. Hagin. This is the first book in a new reading group for the women of my church, “Pillar of Truth Christan Center.” This was an idea sparked by my 1st Lady, Edwina Renee Logan, wife of my spiritual leader, Pastor Ricky Logan. “He may be 'God' to sinner, but He's 'Father' to me.” – I am a part of the Family of our Lord, Jesus Christ. God is His Father. God is my Father. We are all family.Getting Acquainted Through the Word
The only way for me to get to know God better is through His Word. God's Word will help to fulfill me. As Jesus says, I cannot live by bread alone. I must consume the Word, which will fill my soul.Page 58
God loves me just like He loves Jesus. He is OUR Father. He will take care of me better than any good father does. I can count on Him, trust Him, look up to Him. He is my Father, who loves all of His children the same.Experiencing Acquaintance
I can do anything through Christ, who strengthens me. With Christ, I have nothing to fear. My belief in Christ is my belief in God. My Father is all powerful and He truly loves me. There is nothing that man can throw at me that I can't get through as long as I have God in Christ. He is my strength. The Lord is my shepherd. Jesus is our good shepherd. They are my leaders. I am merely one of many sheep in God's pasture. As a sheep just follows his shepherd, no questions asked, instinctively, I must do the same. I must not question Him, but follow Him and trust that He will lead me to great things. He will feed me, care for me, keep me clean, protect me. I'm blessed to be able to walk with God.
Page 52 stuck out to me as well. To know God as my Father is to know that I have an intimate relationship with Him. When I go to Him I can go in confidence that He will provide me with whatever I need and want. Knowing Him as my Father I'm more aware and caution of the decisions I make not wanting to disappoint my Father, also knowing that when I do make mistakes I know He's always there to forgive me.
ReplyDeleteWow. I like how you put that. "...not wanting to disappoint Him." I guess that's where I am right now. I'm so concerned about letting my Father down that I don't even think about being judged by man. Thanks for the comment. I really appreciate. it.
